Attention 4chan extension/user script/archive developers: Some time in the next few days, we'll be rolling out a complete HTML rewrite of the imageboards.
The design will remain the same, but the underlying HTML/CSS is completely new, and validates HTML5/CSS3 (with some tweaks to account for cross-browser compatibility).

In the beginning of the 21st century, a world war breaks out over interplanetary travel tech. The environment is pretty much destroyed so mankind leaves Earth and starts Star Calendar 00. Entertainment and songs become heavily regulated and eventually banned due to their power to move people, but a brave idol group puts on guerrilla performances in the name of a famous act from earlier times that sang to Earth's bitter end, AKB48. The illegal revival group's name is... AKB0048.

Actually, the scene is a little bit more than a dance sequence. Watch it in motion to get an idea, you'll see how it's panning through the crowd waving their glowsticks and then into the stage from different angles.
When you're considering it as a whole, it's about a hundred different models you'd have to keep track of at once.
How are you going to handle it and make the movements look fluid, if not with the help of CG.

Also, it's three minutes at best, not the whole show. Live with that.

Main characters are voiced by AKB48 members. There was a long selection process some months back to which Kawamori took part personally.

The "AKB48 members of the past" (the ones you see performing during the concert sequence) are voiced by veteran seiyuus instead.

It's a bit complicated as you can see.
