  • Attention 4chan extension/user script/archive developers: Some time in the next few days, we'll be rolling out a complete HTML rewrite of the imageboards.
The design will remain the same, but the underlying HTML/CSS is completely new, and validates HTML5/CSS3 (with some tweaks to account for cross-browser compatibility).

Please visit this thread to read more about the changes, and here to preview the code.

As a regular user, these changes should not affect you. You will need to update your 4chan browser extensions/user scripts when their maintainer updates them to be compatible with the changes.
The official 4chan Chrome extension will be ready to go when the updates happen, and 4chan X should be ready soon. We'll post more details on the day of the migration!

It's a shame we didn't really explore much of the other tributes' personalities in the first book. I was especially curious to know more about Tresh or Foxface, but giving the circumstances I understand why it wasn't possible. Unlike the 2nd book where the HAD to form an aliance with a large group, giving Colins the oportunity to flesh out those characters more.

The demographic is for teenagers in general rather than a specific gender, although violence always inclines most form of prose to male. The "shoujo protagonist" MIGHT be because the author was a woman, but her character is fleshed out nicely.

Well, for starters, the more trivial things in Hunger Games are nevertheless ripped off from Battle Royale.

    Spoiler-free examples are:
In BR, the Republic of GEA is controlling Japan and kills of 50 HS students to make some paranoia resulting that "nobody starts some ruckus against the government"
In HG, the Panem is taking away 1 male, 1 female in every district of America just to remind the district that Panem has control over people and some noodle incident destroying District 13.

In BR, the GM gives away rucksacks with random items at the start of the game. Some ends up with a good weapon such as a katana, but someone ended up with a fork.
In HG, the GM gives away 22 rucksacks with random item at the start of the game. There were good weapon such as a bow and arrow but some nigger got a brick.

Hunger Games will ALWAYS be an EASIER read solely because the book isn't as preachy as the first one.
In HG, it keeps focusing on the life of Katniss and how she reacts to things.
In BR, it writes a lot of different situations and why people reacts like so and, after each death, there's a long-drawn conclusion being shoved on your face.

My main problem with the last book was how over-the-top is was.
With Katniss becoming Green Arrow/Hawkeye, those giant lizard monsters, the ground in the Capitol streen opening and devouring everyone, the tiger-lady... Snow could have turned into a t-rex and I wouldn't have been surprised

I still liked the series overall, but it definitely goes downhill after the first book.

    Read the second book.
The "werewolves" were just intended to resemble the dead tributes in order to fuck up with Katniss, Peeta, and Cato's minds. Same way they gave those giant white lizards in the last book Snow's voice and smell.
