    This has sorta always struck me as weird.
    Do 2ch have the same memes as us?
    Stuff like fucking magnets how do they work seems like something which was funny because 4chan found it and loved it.
    So does 2ch discover stuff as we do, or do they leech of of our memes?

    Most 2ch memes are corruptions and/or abbreviations, which would make no goddamn sense to translate straight.
    Like 漏れ [moré, leakage] instead of 俺 [oré, I/me].

    For an extreme case, look at 今北産業 [imakitasangyou, now north industry] which is sometimes just written as iksg.

    It's a corruption of 今来た私にこれまでの流れを三行で説明してください [ima KITA watashi ni kore made no nagare wo SANGYOU de zetsumeshite kudasai] where KITA and SANGYOU are written with different kanji than the abbreviation.
    It basically means "I just got here, can you explain what's going on in three lines or less?"


    I'd localize 漏れ to "eye"
    and 今北産業/iksg to "tl;dr"
