I was able to get some good conversations in the queues sometimes but it felt I was making them uncomfortable.
My own policy to always get a little conversation was to ask every good cosplayer about their series if if I took a picture. I had a discussion about the plot of TWGOK with a Keima and about Blazblue with a Ragna. That way you can avoid shitty cancerous Narutards.

I had just turned 18 so I felt like the supreme badass who could now go check out the Hentai Section. Hey, I was 18 and I just wanted to legally see Porn and figured Anime Con + 18 = Hentai time. I was at my first and Last Otakon. I go through the giant dealers room thinking I'm just "ever so cool" and reach the booth. What I saw that day turned me away from ever going near or around Hentai (especially at a Con) forever.

There was 50+ asian man balding (with that little ring of hair around his head) tanned wearing a wife-beater and some short sweating PROFUSELY while he was reading some Loli Manga. His face was the most awkward part as it was just mouth agape wide eyes (I want to say he was drooling but he wasn't. It just makes it sounds nastier) and just Sweat POURING down his face and his shining head. When I saw that I turned a 180 and never went back since then. I am almost 23 now.

So I live in Chattanooga and there was this con and it wasn't just anime it was sci fi and everything else. So my Dad asked me if I wanted to go so we could make fun of people. I had to decline because my power level is hidden and I looked up videos online of the con and it was scary. Maybe one day I'll go to a con just to say I've done it, but not with my father, I would not like him to see what kind of people I share a hobby with.

This looks like the worst con ever. There is no girl above a 4/10 in any of these pics, and there's usually at least some of them at any anime convention.
