Last episode was awful. They should have drawn a line under the Serenity stuff and launched straight into another arc with new characters. Instead they waste the episode on pointless slice of life shit with the two most boring characters on the show. If they had to do a SoL episode, at least have it revolve around the crew..I've enjoyed the series up to this point because Marika is a brilliant MC and the crew are a fun bunch of side characters but if the next episode is just as bad or involves the Serenity kids in any way, I'm going to drop this series.
Heavy melodrama and murder wouldn't even fit the show. Marikas's mom explained it in episode one or two.
This show is awesome, so refreshing

I'm still watching and enjoying this. Though the golden ship arc wasn't executed in the way the director probably wanted. I think my problem with it is that it just raises more questions than it answers.It still has room to evolve into something epic, or continue as it has, however.It is refreshing to watch though. You sometimes forget that anime which doesn't pander to people in formulaic ways do exist. Though I fully admit that the mini sailor moon is unreasonably moe and I have no idea what to do with myself anymore.

I feel like the show would be better if it made a choice. The first few episodes of CUTE GIRLS DOING RELATIVELY HARD SCIFI THINGS in space was fantastic, but then the "pirating" started. There were good piratey parts too, like that recent Ghost Ship arc up until the ship was boarded, and there was an episode where Marika's mom took her to a restaurant under the airport that had just the sort of atmosphere I was looking for from the show. This mix they're doing just isn't working for me though.
