Then you're limiting yourself based on age of a product or genres you're uncomfortable with. Even I do that with sports anime and battle shounen, but to just reject older anime overall is really foolish.

Therefore I never believe anyone when they say they're out of anime to watch. It means they're casuals and defeatists.
