I am not a Sakurafag, but I quite like her. She has a great design (as dark sakura, loli and regular one, her extra version is godtier too looks wise), the true love story, her sex scenes weren't bad, she's also a subtle character who is smarter than many give her credit for (shit, she kills offs all the antagonists in her route, aside of Angry Manjew. That took me by surprise). She's also extremely strong willed. It takes a lot to break her.

But she's not a project fantasy waifu for power elevens adventures that will kill you. She is more there to settle down and raise kids and grow old with you.

I liked her more now that I've gotten older.

This basically sums up all the reasons why I'm a Sakurafag. I found Saber boring, and Rin was pretty great, but Sakura is special. She's an incredibly strong willed person (note that Kariya went through the same shit as her for a month and lost half of his body and pretty much died because of it. She rocked that shit for 11 years before snapping), who still manages to be one of the most genuinely nice characters. Rin is cool and all, and Shirou gets to move to England and be a mage and I guess that's neat, but with Sakura, he just gets to settle down, live off the money from the sale of the Matou estate, and be a quiet badass for the rest of his life. It helps that, by the end of HF, Sakura is likely one of the most powerful non-Sorcerer level mages in the world.

That said, I personally like Rin the most since it's a relationship where both people can depend on each other. I wish. Rin and Shirou, after having been through all of their ideals, helped each other to stand. Shirou helped Rin to find the latent goodwill in her heart and taught her how to retain her humanity and compromise with being a magus. Rin taught Shirou to live for himself, that striving towards an ideal, but knowing when to follow your own path is how to live life.

I think that's going on with this interview is that the relationship with Shirou and Saber/Rin by the end of the routes is more of the start of an interpersonal one whereas with Sakura, they're already more intimate due to spending so much time with each other. With time, it's entirely possible that the love between them will be just as strong, if not more, than with Sakura x Shirou.

I like Sakura the most, but I like all the girls to different degrees and for different reasons. Nasu purely meant that each of the girls had different phases of a relationship. Saber and Rin's are still in the courtship phase. There is nothing patronizing about it.

Sakura's showed the bumps in the road of a relationship that has built over a period of time, and how people work through those.

Neither is superficial or any less strong, but it's a different part of the same thing; love.
