I didn't get the deredere moment I hoped for, but damn this was sweet too.

I'll miss this show.

It made my heart warm every time I watched it. It was a good "cooldown anime" to watch while you worried about the other shows.

I found that one episode with them fishing great. Maybe it was because Sonya was more likable during that scene.

Final episode still is the best though but that's a given since they had all the characters have sufficient screentime, good skits, and a drama at the end.

Think of it like this:
Adam Sandler = American Pie > Kill Me Baby > FLCL > Baccano

KMB uses a lot of physical comedy, stuff which made The Three Stooges popular. They are dime a dozen jokes with little buildup and little payoff. Adam Sandler movies and American Pie movies for example use a lot of low brow gross-out humor, they focus on fart jokes and body hair. In those cases they could hardly even be called jokes.

FLCL and Baccano on the other hand have a bit more high concept humor, jokes with longer buildup and higher payoff. You start seeing brick jokes and cases of fridge logic where a punchline might hit you way after the fact.

Question, was DAT SCENE in the manga or was it anime original?

I felt embarrassed listening to both of Agiri's songs, personally. The only songs I honestly enjoyed were the B-sides of Yasuna and Sonya's CDs, which were both surprisingly nice and sweet.

Character songs are usually done on small budgets since they go to niche market, but these were collectively some of the worst quality chara songs I've heard in a while.

People constantly praise Agiri's voice, but I think Yasuna's is the real star of the show- more than just literally. Kyou mo Futari de is the only character song I enjoy enough to hum or have stuck in my head.

Agiri's engrish is pretty terrible tbh.

But when you make a cutesy show where everything that happens is flower covered and cute, or a comedy where everything is a gag, it's harder to make things stand out. Every gag is just another gag. When you add contrast, the happy and funny parts stick out more from the serious, the dark, and the somber.

In addition, it adds variety to the show, backstory to the characters, and potential for character development and plot development.

Considering this, I think that another version of KMB would be interesting to watch.
