But I did anyway, and it was a really great experience that brightened up my spring. With all the episodes completed I realized to my surprise that there were more things I wanted to do with the show now - at the end - than during the initial planning phase. It must have been because I grew more attached as time went by and things grew more concrete, while we groped our way through the creative process.I wanted to show an eventful journey as Kanata goes home for the holidays, taking Kureha with her... Claus looking dapper, even at home...Naomi and Carl running into each other at a guild meeting...Filicia at a treatment facility, overcoming the trauma of the battlefield...Iliya agonizing alone as a woman in the mist of the fierce battle at Vingt, and resolving to consent to a political marriage...People striving to bring life back to No Man's Land, ect. ect...There are so many thing I wish we could have done. One can hypothesize that the reason why the surviving Takemikazuchis aren't bumrushing enemies is because despite futuristic tech and materials with innately high durability, the SnW world is not able to maintain the components once the durability gets worn down. What happens when Tank-kun's on-board computer fails? They're like unrepairable artifacts. (Suppose that Tank-kun just happened to be intact enough and unused enough that whatever repairs it needed were relatively uncomplicated.)
Albeit a poor imitation, they did get spider legs working on their tanks. It was a step in the general direction. They got some of the mechanical stuff down.

I really did like the setting for Sora no Woto, but the series itself wasn't too great, aside from the first and last episodes. All of the backstory and environment were fantastic.
