everything that was enjoyable about the original manga is gone in the
new manga. The dynamic between the girls is messed up due to the change
in setting, Azusa being split up from the rest, and all these new
characters, which really just makes everything feel strange. It's not
the same K-ON it used to be and it really doesn't work with the way
things are right now. Of course it could always improve when Azusa
graduates and joins the rest of the main four, but I don't see it
becoming anywhere near as good as the original manga was while they were
all in highschool together having fun.
The new characters are
also shit. Sumire is almost a complete clone of Mugi and derives from
her in just about every way. They even look the same, they even fulfill
the same role in the club, they come from the same background, and they
are even revealed to be childhood friends. Ui is an awful character with
no personality and she is pretty much a mary sue, with the only unique
trait she has being how "perfect" she is. Jun is okay, but she's never
been fleshed out enough to become a decent character and the only one
that focused on her was bad too (hurrr boyfriend misunderstandings). Nao
is completely pointless and might as well not even exist. This all
makes Azusa's chapters a pain to read since she's the only thing
supporting it or making it interesting in any way.
Kakifly also
forces the characters through the exact same situations out of laziness.
No, a beach trip is not going to be exciting for the third time just
because there's a few new characters going this time. Why not do
something else?
Hell, the whole thing is shitty writing.
I
really don't know why the series had to be continued past the
graduation. It ended nicely and had no reason to continue, he's just
ruining the series and the goodwill of his fans at this point. |
