/v/ hyped it more than us. The threads should have lasted 2 weeks max. It's not the worst VN it's not the best. The threads on /a/ after the first week had to be filled with users of /v/, they didn't have the large anticipation threads we did, yet still have threads today.

I still can't comprehend why there is a 'general' for it. Sure we/JP also have VN's threads every day, but they pop up answer a few questions and then bicker powerlevels, plot points etc then die for 12 hours until the next thread.

My problem with the pacing is that the only character I had a reason to care about was Homura, because they actually gave us some information about her.

I had no reason to care about Mami dying outside of, "Oh no, Mami's dead!" I didn't know shit about her.

Sayaka got her powers and went full witch mode in 2 or 3 episodes. The only character development she had was wanting to help others, like the boy she was in love with.

Kyouko got some story and developed, but then sudoku'd soon after against Witch Sayaka. Maybe because she lost the one person she just connected with, but it was still silly.

Hitomi was a fucking irrelevant character and pretty much only existed to give Sayaka the catalyst for going full witch, even though Madoka, Sayaka, and Hitomi were supposed to be good friends.

Pacing of the show was god-awful. They crammed everything too close together. It just needed a few more episodes. Not 24/26, just a few.

I agree with the first sentence, Madoka does a lot with 12 episodes, but I do think it needed just 2-4 more to flesh out certain characters a bit more. My biggest problem with Madoka was the pacing not giving me time to connect with the characters. They were introduced and then killed off. I felt disconnected while watching until episode 10.

The Rainy Devil arc was probably the only good part because it was the only one not based on stupid Japanese puns and had an actually interesting story to it. Every other bit of it was trash.

It didn't handle the whole "multiple arcs with an overlaying story" very well because there was no real main story. Plus characters just kind of left and reappeared whenever.
