Please tell me you are trolling, while the backgrounds were godly for the first few episodes the plot turned into shit quite fast, then mythology and giants happened and became a giant trainwreck.

The premise was fairly good and vandalizing mecha-basketball events was awesome, but that was for just the first episode, the good points stopped there, then it didn't only became mechas and basketball but mechas wearing Nike tennis , basketball and moon boobs. If was truly awful.

Herp Derp someone didn't watch past episode 14 when the plot became epic and the characters all got satisfying development. Then the wham episode in 22 where the entire planet get obliterated. You good sir are the one that is trolling. This is done by the same project director of macross. But since this is a shounen. The music powering the emotional aspect of the series becomes all the more powerful over time.

Wasn't there a reboot planned in which more focus would be on the actual games? Satelight is focusing on Space Pirates and Aquarion Evol this season so who knows if they'll ever get back to that

I watched it to the end actually, if I didn't I would have mentioned the giants, mythology and basketball gods bullshit, and as some anon mentioned the idols just ruined what it could have been a nice show. Even the production values were greatly lowered past the first episodes, they invested way too much in the musical part of the show and shity CG balls trails. Those godly backgrounds were jsut present in the first episodes and that was it.

Shitty CG doesn't make a show good. Specially if the plot is complete shit.

I LOVED THIS SERIES. We haven't gotten anything as good as basquash in years i'm really hoping for a new macross but i doubt its gonna happen. I was really rooting for dan hooking up with the princess (who is voiced by the queen herself rie kugiyama) but then rouge happened and i was dissappoint

I liked the idols when they were holograms. The move from greek chorus to tsundere love rivals wasn't kind to them.

I didn't hate the idols i just hated rouge. Prolly because she didn't put out in the service department. But the music in this show was amazing. Without the music i dunno if i would have liked this show as much as i did. Anyone who says this show sucked really need to watch last years and this years anime with a few exceptions. There are two doujins avail for it both were printed for comiket 73 and they are terrible. I don't know what you usually fap to but if you can fap to those then your a better man than i am. I really liked Basquash but some things truly ruined it
The focus on idols didn't fucking belong, although they produced music almost in the same leauge as Frontier it made the show impossible to license (see Macross in general)
The focus on tits that's necessary to hook the japanese otaku makes it really hard to licenese to say Cartoon network where I feel a variation of the show could have shined, the race diversity alone made it really interesting
The budget ran out around ep11-12 and it really shows, that along with the new director taking the show in a new direction also hurt i royally

I remember picking it up when it aired because I thought it was pretty. But there wwas way too much shounen bull and CG mechs distracting me from what I was really trying to enjoy in it. I only watched around 2 or 3 episodes anyway. But I knew I was going to drop it before I even picked it up--I don't hold any strong opinion about it, 'twas a lost cause.
