Quick question for all you EVA fans.

Could it possibly mean that the TV Series, EOE, and the Rebuild are all different Universes? Obviously it's pretty much proven that the Rebuild is something completely different, but so many different things happened at the end of EoE and the series. It's almost like Shinji keeps rewinding everything. Everything changes just slightly.

There is the possibility that Rebuild is just an alternate universe that Shinji thought of during EoE.

I personally view the series, the manga and Rebuild as all being in their own seperate continuities.

Why do people always bring up timetravel?
This was never touched upon once at all during the series.

I don't think they could go the Time Travel route so much as a Universe reset or something else. It's just bothersome that Fag and Gendou know more than they should. That and the subtle differences up until 2.0 when everything goes out the window.

I mean, even Gendou is a bit nicer and Shinji is changing for the better.

Rebuild at this time is anyone guess if its a sequel or alternate universe.

Kaworu is the Shinji form the previous cycle. He fused with Adam, while Lilith/Rei died. That's why he calls Gendo "Father", and how he knows what Shinji is feeling and why Shinji trusts and feels a calming effect when he is around him.

Maybe the angels are this cycles interpretations of the past cycles characters.

Rebuild is an alternate world in the same way that the happy school world in the last episode was. Shinji is just trying to imagine how things could have been different during instrumentality, but it still fucks up. So it ends with him accepting it and going back to his weird improvised dwelling in post End of Evangelion world.

Can someone explain to me why they needed the MPE's?

They say to "advance the state of the project" or something like that, but what are they actually for?

Are they replacement for the Angels? They want to reinact the Impact on their terms, so did they make the MPE's to substitute for the Angels as a power source/catalyst?

You have the S2 Engine (Life) from the MPE's, and the Human/Lilin (Knowledge) from Shinji/Unit 01 (Who is a clone of Lilith), is this right? Just combining the two sides into one?

It would be like a horrible time loop in which the world was destined to repeat until Shinji got his shit together to actually break it. I'm thinking that Shinji can't deal with the world he's left with in EoE and somehow restarts it with all the people, but I wouldn't know. I didn't get hit by radiation during WW2.
