Bullshit. Waifu threads are usually condensed to a single thread every night for people to talk about their waifus or whatever. It's only really a problem when we get a thousand "your waifu is posted, you do X" threads, which the board seems to be ignoring finally. The waifu threads themselves, though, they're fine. It's more about the characters themselves and why people love them rather than the poster's own personal life, so blogging is a non-issue, and we've had that garbage on the board from the very beginning to begin with.

I have no idea what you're talking about since Redline threads had plenty of threads discussing it for about a week after it was released. People finally got bored of discussing it and the trolls worked their way in, killing the threads off completely. This happens with almost every show on /a/, even the SoL.

Characters are the focus of these shows more often than not, and discussing them and why you like them is perfectly acceptable on an anime imageboard. You're letting a few off-topic and shitty threads taint your opinion of everything else. Try to read one of the more civil waifu threads and tell me again that it doesn't belong on /a/.

Take a good hard look at the board and it's current state. This is what you guys have made it. There's no way around that simple fact. How is this their fault? The spam is attributed not to the people posting waifus, but to a bunch of children with too much time to spare and a desire for cheap attention. Waifu threads were just as big back in 2008 as they are now, by the way. The only thin that's changed is how seriously people take the concept.
