I think it'll be good. E7 was an enjoyable anime and was great all around except for the length which was maybe a bit too much for the plot. People complaining about the movie are retards who still haven't gotten the memo about the alternate universe setting.

I'm not going to watch it immediately, but I may later on. I liked E7 in its time, and I still like it. It's been off the air long enough to have slipped under the radar, despite the fact that it was on adult swim for a little while years ago. We don't have kiddies talking about it all the time, which allows me to enjoy the memory of the show in peace.
With a new season, and with Bones obviously throwing a lot into it, it's going to be everywhere, and I'll probably be sick of it before too long.

All the same, E7 was Bones' swansong in my opinion. It was a good science fiction love story, and I don't think they would have bothered with a sequel after so long unless they had something good. The production values and animation should be good, at least. And E7 had a great soundtrack.

the LFO in OP looks like the Nirvash before the final transformation, and it has a board. the Nirvash became the substitute control cluster for Eureka. if it's back, it may be that the Coralians have returned. seems unlikely to happen after just 15-20 years, but maybe the premise of the show is that something crazy has happened and forced them to come back.

they took the entire body of scub coral, that is to say, the coralians, with them. there were only 3 humanoid corallians that were known: Eureka, Sakuya, and Gonzy. Eureka was the only one left behind. my theory is that the "half" that departed with them were the people that were a part of the coral, like Adroc and Dianne Thurston and Norb, along with everyone else Renton and Eureka saw in the library of the control cluster.

I find myself hoping it will be a 50 episode epic. If they can somehow capture the feel of the original, make the characters decent, make the pacing better, and have as good a soundtrack as the original, it could be great.
After 7 years, with a manga adaptation and the amount of money Bones is obviously going to throw into this, I've got high hopes.
