    I only found out about this like a week or so a go, and figured I'd give it a go. Watched the first 8 episodes, and I dunno what to think of it due to the idolm@ster connection...

    Inreality, I don't think the story would be half bad if I didn't spend half of every episode trying to make sense of how the fuck this has anything to do with the im@s characters. It wouldn't be anything amazing, but it would be at least enjoyable for a watch.

    Why in the fuck would they do this? lol...

    OP, don't try to associate it with idolmaster, just take it as it's own series and it's really quite good. The relationship between Haruka and Imber is cute as fuck, just sit back and enjoy.

    Yes, generally, it has shit all to do with Idolmaster other than names and appearances.

    Rumour has it this was going to be a new Ma Hime/Otome spin off - but at the time Bandai and Namco had merged and Idolmaster 2 was about to be released on the Xbox 360 - as such Bamco needed an anime to promote their game, they went to one of Bandai's anime companies, in this case it was Sunrise and asked them do they have anyone good at making anime about cute girls, someone must have pointed to Studio 8 who have created the Mai series and so the new Mai project was hijacked and turned into an Idolmaster show.

    Anyway, seen as an Idolmaster anime, Xenoglossia is shit. But ignore that and watch it as a mecha moe show and its surprisingly decent, the final 1/4 episodes are really nice.

    There was a game called 'Galaxy Angel' a-brewin'.
    BROCCOLI, the dudes that made the DiGi Charat anime, were told to do a Galaxy Angel anime. They had the character designs, but no idea what the game was actually about (romance LN with Homeworld parts tacked in)

    So they made the best possible thing they could've done, and more should do: they dropped the dude and the often serious plot of the game and made a comedy.
