Alright /a/, give it to me straight. I watched the first episode, then went into a gaming modo for the past month. Now I look at the ratings, after that "awesome" first episode, and they've bombed. What the fuck happened.

It's hard to tell with this series if in the end if it's going to be a shitty series or not at least for me.
We have a lot of cliches that we see in anime all the time.
Some people have voiced discontent because every time the characters get into a sticky situation there's always someone around for the MC to pull the exact weapon he needs out of someones chest.
Though something tells me that in the last episode that gai might have arranged for the pres to be on the ship.
Most episodes so far have been mediocre to decent so far in my opinion.
The episodes are fun to watch but it's getting a little repetitive. I don't mind the fanservice but some of it seems to be thrown in for the sake of throwing it in.
All in all I'm enjoying it though.

Didn't like the songs

I did after episode 3, along with Persona 4.

I was watching 4 shows this season and I knew I was going to drop 2 after epsisode 3. I went with Guilty Crown because it was "meh" and Shu was one step away from being a harem MC (and that one step was not hacing a harem but he showed all the signs of a harem MC) and I dropped Persona 4 because I beat the game once already and the slow opening was boring.

The other two shows I am still watching are Gundam AGE and Horizon

Honestly it's the only series I really look forward to each week.
Shana, Fate/Zero, C3 have all been pretty good so far in my opinion but they haven't grabbed my attention like GC has.
None of the other series I'm watching have either in all honesty.
I'm still enjoying everything I'm watching though.
I haven't decided if I'm dropping Horizon, I haven't watched the two latest episodes.

I'm thinking I'm just going to drop it and than pick it back up when the BDs come out.

I refuse to fashionably jump on the bullshit wagon every anime season where one or two anime are attacked regardless of how well it is made or how many people enjoy it. People did that for Ghost in the Shell, HotD, Freezing. And now people are doing that for Guilty Crown. At first, trollers attacked GC char designs, but several doses of redjuice embarrassed the trolls and they slunk off. Trolls then said the plots were predictable, but they were chided about only saying that AFTER they had seen it, so those trolls slunk away embarassed. I can predict what's in an episode after I've seen it too. Now YOU appear but without giving reasons why GC sucks out of fear you would be disproved yet again.

It's clear most anime fans watch and enjoy GC. Technically, a lot of trollers also enjoy it because they look forward to each new episode to troll about.

It's been a long time since anime came out that allowed different people to enjoy the same show at different levels of understanding and fannishness. Each GC episode is packed with throwaway details and content that anime such as One Piece take 3.5 episodes to show. Maybe that much experience is too much for fans used to One Piece pacing.

Observant fans realize from this briefly shown scene that the head of GHQ's genome research program and its chief scientist were the secret heroes behind the Apocalypse vaccine that saved so many people. The screencap shows the two 10 years prior. It is indeterminate if the guy and woman got together to have a son but the speculative chances are pretty good so far. I hope to see that point resolved in a future episode unless it's one of many throwaway details included to amuse the detail-oriented fans. Did you see the homages to FF7, GitS, or ToAru Index?

Year after year, the angsty haters need to have something to hate each anime season. It's one way they stir up their emotions in their otherwise drab lives. It's Guilty Crown's turn for these emotionally needy people.

I actually haven't watched a single second of Guilty Crown yet.
From what I've heard it's somewhat similar to Code Geass and is pretty story driven. I hate watching shows with actual plot on a weekly basis, so I'll probably just wait until it's completed before I watch it. But from what I know of it, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I don't even know why, but when Shu and Gai became bros it became a million times more bearable. It almost feels to me like they made it horrible in the beginning on purpose just to make it gradually get better as the show's appeal.

But it made Gai more human and Shu a little more alpha, which both made them mountains more bearable.

Inori is still a slut, though.

The little Tachikoma in Guilty Crown would make a nice rice cooker. That was brought up back when GitS came out, but Production I.G didn't make any comment about it. HOWEVER, the studio remembered that and put it into GC when the roodypoo tried to take the rice cooker away from Shu in episode one. A normal roodypoo in my area wouldn't ask Shu so politely though. In real life, they don't take too many chances on you using self-defense on them and they just punch you hard in the face, then rob you. The only time they talk is when they sneak up to you at the ATM and want your PIN number.

GC seems to have a pretty intricate plot and facts and events from prior episodes are taken into account in later episodes. I like how GC doesn't assume the audience is stupid and and keeps on going without stopping to hit you over the head 2 or 3 times with the same stuff to make sure you remember it for use 2 episodes later.

I noticed that the people who say the plot is shit cannot actually identify specific items or are too afraid to do so because it will get pointed out that they forgot what happened in the prior episodes.

That foot-in-the-mouth faux pas already occurred for the trolling complainers who actually posted specific complaints. SO, now the scaredy-cat samefagging complainers will only dare say something totally useless like "the plot is shit" and refuse to say specifics.

Because I dropped it after the first episode. The show was hyped to be the next big thing, but it wasn't even close. The show being cliche-ridden is not bad if properly executed, but it isn't. It's also filled with multiple plot holes/bad writing (if it's somehow explained in later episodes). Even with these issues, the biggest problem is that the main cast is unlikeable.

On the plus side, Guilty Crown does look nice and has good fap material via future Doujins. I just wish it would have spent more budget on the writing or given its animation budget to other shows (I know it's not realistically feasible).

Personally, it's the biggest disappointment this season (or year).

Some of the complaints are due to the Apple iPad fans hating because the show clearly shows iPad has lost out to the generic affordable datapads that all students can afford.

Most things people have claimed to be plot holes have not. It's not a coincidence that Shu and Inori met. Gai can see voids (people complained about episode 2), Gai didn't die from the satellite laser because "it will be a plot point that has to do with lost christmas and inori giving him blood" You can't claim plot holes when you're 7 episodes into a 22 episode series

I'm starting to take a R2-like approach to watching Guilty Crown. Because I've decided that ultimately, entertainment > sense.

Shu is the "everyman" character that is probably a fair resemblance to a lot of /a/ readers and particpants. GC shows him willing to take on new scary challenges. A lot of /a/ people don't believe in that so they already hate that kind of plot. Shu is willing to take on challenges to help Inori who he has a quiet secret crush upon but doesn't say it out loud in angst. Now, I know a lot of /a/ guys absolutely do not believe in sticking their necks out for any girl or even their girlfriend because they'd just drop her and get another. To them it's a personal prosperity first world so it's no wonder that kind of person would hate this kind of plot direction and keep on saying things, anything, to put Inori down but not offering an explanation why because they are ego-afraid to get called on it. It's no wonder they hate a plot that is counter to how they act in real life.

So they will keep on complaining and hope we don't notice how such similar people have behaved in /jp/ , /b/, /e/, /h/, and /d/ in past history.
