I'm trying to figure out this investment thing whilst I go through co-op in university making some base capital that I can work with (by the end of university I'll be sitting on 50k-70k and a shitton of experience, minus 10k or so that I'll end up inevitably losing whilst I'm learning the ropes. Work a couple more years, and 100k is probably enough to sustain myself (though I wouldn't just up and drop my job, first it needs to be sustainable before I'd do that) if I'm proficient enough in trading by that point.)

If everything plays out according to plan, I'll have a decent sum of money in 10 years, perhaps enough to semi-retire and just play the economy (since my own upkeep is extremely low I don't need that much income).

Beyond that, I'll actually strive to do what I've always wanted to do - fuck around and make contraptions, devices, and interesting programs all day every day without worrying about exams, assignments, etc. Maybe I'll do some part-time teaching at my old highschool for fun as well.

Well I was originally thinking Finland because apparently it's similar to Minnesota and a lot of finish people seem to come here. Sweden is around the same area so it was one of my choices. But to be honest, other than knowing they have good internet, I knew very little about the places.

If you plan to drink a lot of alcohol Finland may be better, Sweden has high alcohol taxes. I can't offer much info about Finland but I know a few NEETs there from IRC, but I don't exactly want to ask them a lot of personal questions about their lifestyle
