Have you seen the last episode of SplashStar? It makes it look like they're not friends anymore, like Mai was only being around Saki because she had to, and then in DX they're Pretty Cure again.

Are the faries/mascots/whatever in Splash Star annoying at all? So far, I've seen too many that I'd happily hand over to the bad guys just to make them go away.

They're okay. If you mean Floppy and Choppy, they're less shrill than the ones in 5 and GoGo.

I knew there was a catch to Yes 5. Well, shrill isn't so bad. I'm mostly wanting to not sit through 50 episodes where an important character is such a douche that it makes watching a chore.

The ones in Pretty Cure 5 piss me off because to hear the dialogue I turn up the volume, but then Coco and Nuts start scream talking and I have to turn it back down.
