  • Happy 8th Birthday, 4chan *click*

Server/posting issues should be resolved now.

Portland, OR folks: You are invited to drink beers, play arcade games, and eat delicious donuts.
The *tentative* plan is to meet up Saturday, at 10PM @ Ground Kontrol ($2 cover after 9PM, 21+ after 5PM), and grab donuts at Voodoo after midnight.
If anything changes I'll post it to @4chan on the Twitter (so follow it if you're thinking about coming).

Well, KyoAni likely expected it to be another Lucky Star, which as I've stated, was a massive success with the same pricing structure. They just seemed to forget what separated Lucky Star from a show like Nichijou.

Blaming it on the price is a cop out... if you make an anime people want to buy, they'll pay whatever you charge. People just didn't like Nichijou enough to pay that price.

This isn't surprising at all, though it reflects nothing on Kyoani's quality, it reflects on how retarded the pricing for the BD were, because even fans of the show aren't willing to take out the loan required to have the show on BD. Maybe Kadokawa has learned their lesson, but they ruined a shows chances of success in the process.

Its typical Kadokawa pricing for 2 cour series. Same price per volume but only 2 episodes per volume, so its 90 x 13, or 1170 dollars. Gosick also suffered from it this year, and sold about the same as Nichijou.

Then theres no way its that high. Charts like that use the average sales of every volume, so unless early volumes sold like 10 million or something, the fact its so low now would bring it down so it can't be averaging that many sold.
