    Welp..

Infinite Stratos, Madoka, C, Ano Hana, Hidan no Aria, Denpa Onna, T&B, Hanasaku Iroha, AoEx, Nichijou, Croisee, Dantalian, usagi Drop, iM@S, and Mayo Chiki.

Pretty fun. Nothing was as good as Angel Beats from last year, though.

    - Almost watched Astarotte no Omocha completely, mostly for the doujin potential.
    - Marathoned both seasons of Kaiji and enjoyed it greatly.
    - Was interested in Idolm@ster for several episodes, but eventually dropped it due to lack of interest. I might pick it up if something interesting happens or if I see a lot of positive feedback, but right now I'm counting on the fanart alone.
    - Madoka was interesting, good and I generally enjoyed it all the way to the last episode, but it still falls to the second place behind Kaiji in my rankings.
    - Tiger & Bunny was enjoyable and pretty good, but I still dropped it more than halfway through.

...and that's it for me. A relatively passive year.

Well the only new anime I watched this year were Steins;Gate and Madoka. The latter was fucking terrible as I'd guessed and Steins;Gate was very enjoyable even though it was flawed.

I might watch the Hunter x Hunter remake if the animaiton quality is good.

Steins;Gate only had crying in the latter half of the series and it was very well done. Madoka is literally from episode 1 through 12: a bunch of autistic middle school girls who can't seem to make up their mind about anything and cry about fucking EVERYTHING.

Madoka was really interesting, refreshing too
Steins;Gate was a great adaption, bumpy in the middle but came back strong
    Iroha was a chore
    Nichijou was energetic but inconsistent.

Yeah, I get the feeling the next few seasons are going to be a bit slower
    >> Raian 09/30/11(Fri)09:53 No.55305866
Winter: Mostly mediocre shows, but my favorite season. Zombie Mondays and Madoka/IS Thursdays were just grand.

Spring: Boring season. Only shit I cared about was Sengoku Otome and even that was mediocre. AnoHana was enjoyable but didn't really care for it by half. Same with Iroha where I stopped giving a shit about 5 episodes in. Didn't get in to Steins until Summer.

Summer: YuruYuri, Ikoku, and Mayo made this season for me. Blood-C hahahaha oh wow.

    Pretty good.

There hasn't been anything to really blow me away yet, but between Madoka and the second half of Steins;Gate I'm more than happy enough with this year. Some other good shows too, like Penguindrum, Idolmaster, AnoHana, and Tiger & Bunny. I don't think it's fair to compare it to the other years yet, though. The biggest season is still ahead of us and there's some big, big titles there. Ask me again in about a month and we'll see.

Some real awful shit so far this year too, like Blood-C, Hidan no Aria, that imouto show, and the majority of the winter season, but whatever. You get that each and every year.

If we had another big slice of life or something it'd probably be the best year ever.

    >> Uncovered !Esper6.L46 09/30/11(Fri)10:48 No.55306588
Well first off would be my favourite shows of the year:
Kaiji season 2's climax and ending was goddamn amazing. Absolutely fantastic adaptation of the manga, definitely my favourite anime of the year by a landslide victory.
Steins;Gate was great. Really loved the characters, the story was interesting, and the last two episode were a brilliant adaptation of the VN's True End.
IDOLM@STER is good so far, I'm liking it a lot. Which actually reminds me I haven't watched episode 13 yet, gotta get on that in a few minutes actually.
Hyouge Mono desperately needs subs. That is all.

Then shows that I enjoyed but not as much as the former:
Madoka, Usagi Drop, Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, Kamisama no Memochou, and Mawaru Penguindrum.

Could have been good, but failed to capitalize on their potential:
[C]. It had an interesting concept, and went pretty much nowhere with it.
Ano Hana. Was great at first, but the ending felt too half-assed and the conclusion was rather forced.

Overall it's been a fantastic year so far, and Fall is looking up to be the perfect finisher for that year.

If it's half as good as the novel, I'm sure Fate/zero will be anime of the year.
