I disagree on many points. The first is that Okarin is still in his first year of college, has ambition and drive, and is actually drawn to be fairly good looking.

How's NHK even otaku pandering? Satou isn't an otaku, and it covers a lot of Japanese subcultures, not just anime fandom.
