No, Oblivion's voice acting sucked (although Bioware tends to be a much better). Disney doesn't always hire live action actors for their voice acting--Jim Cummings is very, very common in Disney stuff and he's fantastic. He's the singing voice for much of Be Prepared since Jeremy Irons lost his voice while recording that song. There's also American cartoons, anime dubs (yes, there are good actors that work in anime dubs--check out Chris Patton as Tatsuhiro Satou in Welcome to the NHK, Crispin Freeman in...everything), etc. There's good and bad actors in basically every place you'd find an actor working.

But this isn't a dub thread so I won't make a huge list for you to check out.

My god, this. I never watch foreign media dubbed. I've seen stuff in Italian, French, German, Chinese, Korean, and who knows what else. Always subbed. You're already losing something in the translation, but you lose yet more without hearing the original vocals.

If you watch dubs because you can't handle subtitles, then really you should just pass on foreign media all together. What's the point of watching something from another culture if you're going to cut out a significant part of the experience?

Not to say that a vast majority of dubs aren't awful but anon you really must apply Sturgeon's law to the world of dubs. Take Baccano for instance, it had an excellent dub even though that's mostly due to the fact the characters were intended to have American accents so the dub actors were at an upper hand.

I rarely watch dubs though, just throwing that out there.
