When the dub started airing in 95, I would get up at 5:30 am to tape it, I wasn't impressed by it at all, and back then I didn't have internet so I wasn't aware of what I was missing. But I thought it was a good source to learn to draw anime girls.

When the Naru, Nephrite arc happened I was suddenly sold on the series, and no longer just taped it to draw from but taped it to watch.

Less than a year later I was online, knew what I was missing, lurking in rec.arts.anime and alt.fan.sailor-moon, looking for screenshots and spoilers of recently aired episodes.

You kids today with your broadband don't know how hard it was back then on dialup. A 2 minute clip of Seiya kissing Usagi off of "Miss Haruna's Homeroom" would take so long to download when we had shit for codecs and bandwidth. And we had to get our fansubs on VHS from VKLL not simply download them via torrent.

Buddy I hate to tell you, but there were ftp sites for anime back then. You had to get in solid with the subber but shitty looking 300mb episodes where there to have. I downloaded the entire run of sailor moon in 96 or 97, taking 3 days for each episode, and completely filling my hard drive with every quarter season.
