It has it's moments. If you like political stories with a futuristic twists, it's worth seeing.

The dialogue can get incredibly dry and boring though.

Yes, it does get philosophic but I felt it was kinda forced near the end of the first season. I preferred the second season over the first, because it dived more into the character's background stories and tied it to the plot.

Either way, it's worth looking into. Just don't try and marthon it. It's the kind of series that's better if you let the episode stew a little before moving on.

I love it how Paz doesn't say a word during the whole first season, and then in the second season he gets that one epiode where he might or might not have died and nobody really cares.

The problem with Ghost in the Shell is that the show itself is actually smart, even in the way it references things, but because it's "entry level" most of the people that watch it won't understand 90% of it. Ghost in the Shell assumes humanity is smarter than it is.
