    OP here. I'm not trolling.

I FUCKING LOVE Nichijou, I have 12 episodes in my PSP and I follow the show every sunday, I really really love it. But it is not the show of the year.

Madoka. Well, being a fan of SHAFT, I think Madoka it's god tier easily, but Steins;Gate was much more enjoyable and smart because it was longer.. it made me cry, laugh, feel anger, joy... Madoka didn't.
Madoka is ALMOST the best show of the year, but I think nothing will surpass Steins;Gate.

The only problem I had with this series was the ending. I wanted it to make me cry, I really did. But, alas, I did not cry. I didn't even shed a single fucking tear. I was celebrating the good end, but I wanted to feel sad at least once.
I think the reason for this was that the ending was way too similar to The Butterfly Effect's ending. The MC is walking around the city, passes the girl, and the story ends.
    Don't get me wrong, I loved the ending. I just wanted to cry ;_;

You wanted to cry because a lot of endings in this day of age are written to FORCE you to cry. S;G didn't fall into that cliche, and for that you should express great happiness. They did the ending perfectly, without having to shove it down our throats.

I enjoyed both too, but Madoka seemed too short. A lot of people say that Madoka was the perfect length at 12 episodes, but I would have liked to see more of Homura failing in other worldlines, so that I could get more of a feel for how depressed she was getting. Only seeing 3 or so worldlines was a disappointment.

    Steins;Gate would've been 10/10 if either:

    or

Worldlines are not parallel universes, there is only one "world" and different worldlines represent different paths that the world can follow. The reason future Okabe was able to send the video (and have it not be static like in episode 1) was because Okabe was finally on the line where he went back in time to save Kurisu, but failed once. However, the worldline doesn't actually change until Okabe goes back and actually does what he needs to and then leaves via time travel. Basically, it wasn't a sure thing he would succeed. (I think that's all of it, I might be forgetting a thing here or there, been a while since I read it).

Not sure how much of that was explained in the anime, didn't watch the last few episodes of it really.

Ah... no. It's the exact same timeline. That's why Future Okabe said it was important for Okabe to fail saving Kurisu the first time. That's precisely why Okabe was able to see the D-Mail after he failed.

If I were ever given the option of being able to stop myself from having ever bothered to pick up Steins;Gate in the first place, I would most definitely take it.

The show was tiresome and often painful to watch.

The characters were terrible and bland, the MC in particular was an annoying cunt, the plot and setting was often unbelievable and forced, the pacing was poor, the art and soundtrack were decent at best...

The story as a whole was meaningless, and really, the show was really just a chore to watch.

In fact, really, the only reason I actually managed, forced myself, to finish this show was to tell it's incredibly incredibly annoying fanbase, all of whom should be shot in my personal opinion, that their show was shit.

But even the momentary pleasure derived from pissing those bastards off, probably won't be able to make the ugly feeling of 'why on earth did i watch this shitty anime' go away..

but then again, it's not like it was trying to be something great in the first place..

No, no, that's wrong. Learn from my example: make fun of their mistakes, then actually address their point. You're just arguing about semantics otherwise.

And that's no excuse. You don't say, "sigh" to other people. Also, I'm sure you've been on /a/ typing up a storm; your verbal skills should be top notch, albeit littered with, "fag," and, "nigger."

Putting on my trip for the first time in months to agree with you.

The fans? Complete shit. But the show? All things considered, the best show of the year.

Madokafags will rage and deny, but no - no matter how much I like Shaft, Madoka is not the best show of the year by far. It rests too much on plagiarism to be considered as such. Not that I didn't enjoy it. I liked it a lot. But I can see its flaws because I'm not blinded by fanboyism.

Penguindrum has been very good so far, but the... sheer excitement provided by each episode has been way bigger in S;G.

The show I've enjoyed the most this year is Cardfight!! Vanguard, but we all know why it can't be the best show this season.

Nichijou? Please, if it was a good adaptation it wouldn't be boring. Mitsudomoe, Sofuteni, Dororon Enma-kun and Azazel-san were millions of times funnier.

Level E was pretty damn good, but it falls short on the story and overall enjoyment of S;G.

Fractale... is great competition, but there was something with its execution that can't compete with S;G.

Hourou Musuko and AnoHana... shit, OK, I have nothing. Hourou Musuko, AnoHana and S;G might me tied on the best show of the year position. But S;G is the most normalfag friendly one, which is always a good thing.

Tiger and Bunny is pretty damn enjoyable. But not as fulfilling as S;G.

C had a great story and great characters, but the execution was poor as fuck.

Dantalian is good, but not good enough. im@s is very enjoyable, but not fulfilling enough. I like Kamisama no Memochou, but the execution issues can be seen from miles away.

I am not a S;G fanboy. I didn't buy Dr. Pepper to watch the finale, and I know of a gas station close home that sells Dr. Pepper. I'm not a faggot who uses avatars portraying a midget. But I can see that, for its execution and story, S;G is the best show of the year so far.

Okabe was really annoying for me because he had all the Large Ham of a Mad Scientist, he

just doesn't have the mad genius to back it up.

He literally can't think up of plans on the fly, nor shrewd enough to to utilize the

technology well. He would be fucking LOST without the supporting character to tell him what

    to do.
Almost every decision he make was suggested by other people.

As for his Laugh, it really sounds fucking forced, like he's trying to huck up a luggie and

    laugh at the same time.

In other words he the prime example of a HIPSTER POSER.

thankfully his future self was a much better person than him.

In fact I think its intentional that that Okabe made like this to demonstrate how he can't live up to his image unless he had the Drive and motivation through blood and tears.

That would imply he did anything at all. It was all Christina, and then at the end of the day, his retardation was still the cause of pretty much all the problems.

Few characters have pissed me off more than that faggot. As most otaku self-inserts at least acknowledge their place.

None of that was focused on in the show. The little that was, was forced. The selling point of the show was to self-insert into that pathetic faggot, in that context, nothing more, nothing less.

Now, that's not really a bad thing, but you're only fooling yourself if you actually consider those things to have played a significant role in what the show actually was.

I couldn't take the character Kurisu Makise seriously, because her personality is constantly being shafted to make room for a cliched Tsundere personality.
Whenever she's acting on that, almost every word she speaks was a cliche.
In other words she almost felt less real than the other characters.

I really would have preferred if they actually work on her personality more, instead of making me face-palm every time she go in that mode.

doubtful, assuming you took part in S;G and madoka general threads.

My point is: Do you hate narutards? You should.
Why do you hate them? Because of their behaviour, correct? Because they act like annoying kids. Nothing wrong with acting like a kid, but why be annoying?

Same with the S;G following and the madoka following. As well as the keion following, the second Strike Witches following, the raildex following and a fuckton of etceteras. They behave like narutards. The only difference is that they use labcoats instead of headbands, and the fact that they use "El Psy Congroo" or "suffering" (and specially "haters gonna hate", "u mad", "u jelly" and the load of summer 2010 memes) instead of "believe it".

Steins;gate is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and GRIMDARK. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The neet characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the akiba otakuness, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole timetravel faggotry and everything about the Steins;gate world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on Okabes harem, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mayurisueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.

Steins;gate is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Steins;gate threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.

Unusual social development becomes apparent early in childhood. Autistic Fags;Gayte fags show less attention to social stimuli, smile and look at others less often, and respond less to their own name. Autistic baby S;Gfags differ more strikingly from social norms; for example, they have less eye contact and turn taking, and are more likely to communicate by manipulating another person's hand. Three- to five-year-old autistic Fags;Gayte are less likely to exhibit social understanding, approach others spontaneously, imitate and respond to emotions, communicate nonverbally, and take turns with others. However, they do form attachments to their primary caregivers. Most autistic S;G fags display moderately less attachment security than non-autistic children, although this difference disappears in children with higher mental development or less severe ASD. Older S;G fags and adults with ASD perform worse on tests of face and emotion recognition.
S;G fags with high-functioning autism suffer from more intense and frequent loneliness compared to non-autistic peers, despite the common belief that children with autism prefer to be alone. Making and maintaining friendships often proves to be difficult for those with autism. For them, the quality of friendships, not the number of friends, predicts how lonely they feel. Functional friendships, such as those resulting in invitations to parties, may affect the quality of life more deeply.

Ugh. I see your point now in all honesty. I was in the wrong. However, I was a tad confused, I thought you were bashing S;G in general because of its fanbase. My own fault though cause I didn't read more into the thread, I just skimmed. I am by no means a fanboy. I did not buy Dr. Pepper, I have no lab coats, I never shouted LOLSCIENCE El Psy Congroo etc, but I still don't see it being as bad as Naruto. Sure people drank the Dr Pepper, but that is more powerlevel friendly at least. I think the real reason for naruto being so bad is the massive amounts of people who are downright autistic and fucked up that are absolutely obsessed.

But I digress. Sorry for being such an asswipe, just was kinda ticked when I got into thinking about how much /a/ complains about everything.

It had its flaws and missteps, and it failed to keep the pressure on after most of its OH SHIT moments, and god were those dating arcs nigh unbearable. S;G told its story, told it well and introduced some of the best characters in this anime season, or any but that's just my opinion.

True, and ever since that point it's popularity exponentially increased and more people picked up the show, meaning the faggots who never intended on watching it in the first place, but only watched it to see what the ruckus was all about. Since that point, threads became filled with faggots who either liked the show or faggots who didn't like the show and wanted to troll it.

I honestly don'y remember those shitty tripfags showing up avatar fagging before summer season and I also don't remember people trolling it either. Oh well, what can you do, this always happens to anything that becomes popular and reach the faggotry masses.

You're getting into "I didn't actually watch this show" territory. Or, at best, "i watched steins;gate for the action and I didn't get enough so it's shit" area, which is a retarded argument basically saying "The show wasn't what I expected so I hate it and it makes it objectively bad!".

Don't watch a show that isn't what you want to watch, which if you really thought those episodes were boring shit where nothing happened then you really should have been watching an entirely different series.

Don't blame a show for your incorrect assumptions on the type of series it's supposed to be. That's like going into Aria with the mindset that it's a violent horror series and saying it's a completely shitty show because it wasn't.

The way attractor fields and world line convergence is used are huge asspulls. Some events are necessary and they are always the McGuffins the writers want to advance the plot. Mayuri must die, Kurisu must die.

Everything else can happen in any way imaginable, but this is actually a downgrade from the clichéd timetravel of old. In standard timetravel writing its clear that changing any small detail may have big consequences in the future. But in Steins;gate only peoples deaths seem to influence the future. Sometimes. At other times text messages do. The only difference being what the writers need for the plot...

Yes, infact I'm emphatically stating that they were not enjoyable. They were the opposite of enjoyabl they're were boring. They felt padded out and unweildy. The episodes had no slickness or easy flow, they just plodded on scene by uncompelling scene. The few scenes that did provide some intruigue lasted all of a minute and there was only one of them per episode. It seriously needed better scripting, screenwriting, storyboarding or directing. Even just trimming out crap scenes like hyouin and retard girl visiting the temple to talk to trap fag and drink dr. pepper would have been an improvement.

Most anime can't into a first episode successfully. 30 minutes isn't as much time as you think it is, and it is a rare show that manages to introduce its characters, and concept while not being dry and boring for most of the duration.

As an example, Gurren Lagaan, /a/'s poster child for ADHD action didn't even introduce the title mech until episode 3.
