Well before I watched it, the only Idol I really liked was Makoto, though I thought Iori was hot and that Azusa and Miki had nice tits, as seen in the Nekomataya doujinshi, but that was it. I noticed that too. One of the reasons I actually like the much-maligned episode 3 is that I felt is actually focused on Makoto more than usual, with the part where she's trying to convince Yukiho to perform, and then her performance itself. Other than that, and her basic intro scenes (buying magazine, talking about her dad in the interview) none of her appearances ever seem to be relevant to the plot - it's just like "Oh I see" or a quick little gag scene like her swimming against Hibiki.

I'm wondering the same thing. Logically, it'll have to be by episode 12 at the very latest. Episode 1 was a mass intro, so it would take till 13 to have an episode for each girl, but the twins will share an episode. So the worst case scenario is we have to wait another 6 weeks. I think that's also when Idolm@ster 2 comes out on the PS3, "coincidentally" just after the anime has introduced each girl.

People hate episode 3 just because A1 are making it so they have a different ED each week and sell more CDs, so each ep gets labelled as "X idol's episode" and then the retard fans just focus on that character. Yukiho saying "I'm scared of men" and over-reacting happened as much in episode 1 as it did in episode 3.

I like that episode because it showed them travelling elsewhere for their job (and characters moving around like that in a SoL is rare), it showed them working together as a team, it had nice touches like how the villagers were really friendly but got the name of the company wrong, which instantly characterised them, it was entirely based around a performance in the real world rather than on some shitty cooking show or in a photoshoot.
