Evangelion
is a gateway anime of the best kind. It's a great series, a perfect
story and characterization that is very well done, which to compensate
for its minor weaknesses by adding in a hint of beauty. The normal anon
can see this as the perfection it is, and enjoy it, hate it or be
indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself,
regardless of their opinion, is plain amazing.
However, these
very aspects that try to smear over the beauty of its core make it a
breeding ground for all of /a/ who engage in every kind of faggotry both
online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all look
cool, the mecha suits in particular, the Evangelion world fuels your
fantasies, while the character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and
overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the
mary-sueish drives of your average /a/non and his sense of neutrality
towards the world. Exactly the kind of perfection that makes all of /a/
eat this shit right the fuck up.
Evangelion is basically THE most
loved anime known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual
opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to love the fuck out of
this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that all Evangelion
threads are respected. |
