those scenes were presented rather comically overall, so I don't
believe the viewer is supposed to think it's that critical or urgent.
Well,
the critical part is supposed to be that he made a promise so he has to
go back. The comparatively lighthearted stuff with her powers going out
of control is, I think, supposed to add urgency, or else the question
would be, "Why the fuck don't they leave him alone, let him finish up
his business for godssakes, I mean he's only leaving his ENTIRE LIFE
behind." It would look really bitchy for them to be rushing him if that
element weren't there. |
