First season of Haruhi was pretty special to me
Probably the first show that wasn't a shounen I could get my friends to watch
I haven't really bothered with the movie or season 2 after I kind of realized that the first season wasn't as "unique and different from every other anime" as I originally thought all those years ago.
The first season holds a special place in my heart though because I remember how obsessed with it I was, every thing else I could care less about.

I do read the novels though.

My favorite parts of the show were supernatural happenings and Kyon's narration, anyways. Mikuru is a moeblob for sure, but I don't care because that isn't what the show is about.

anyways, honestly, it seems like theres 0 romance between kyon and haruhi. Haruhi just treats him like a friend, with rare moments where she gets jealous. And im not even sure thats jelousy or her trying to defend mikuru. Kyon seems completely preoccupied with Asahina, and it seems like he despises haruhi.
