Trolling made a lot of zombie threads pretty bad, but there were still decent threads each week. Then some kind of troll, usually IS fags by the end, came in and completely ruined things.

Why did it get a second season? It's a harem anime. They sell because fans think they will get some bonus fan service or something if they buy them.

Don't worry, there will be a S2 of IS. Even though it was even more generic than Dragon Crisis and Zombie combined - it will probably get 3-4 seasons like Index will eventually.

It's not about quality of writing, or even the quality of the fan service, it's just how the market works.

I liked Zombie too. Well, the onset anyway. I love Necromancers. I love the undead. When was the last time we had some interesting setup involving them? I actually don't know of any Necromancer animu/mango besides Zombie. It could have really been interesting.

Or it could have stayed a parody, which it failed to do because of forced drama and a lack of anything remotely funny. Was it parodying anything past episode 8 anyway?

I don't see the problem here, are you trying to imply that the humour contrasts heavily with the show? Personally, I don't think so. The humour sections serve to develop character and focus on more lighthearted situations, while everything else is there to touch on the darker side of things that they ignore.

Honestly, I still don't know why I should care for this show. It doesn't look like some God tier comedy to me, and it doesn't seem to deliver any awesome action, either. The fact that the threads mostly consist of IS trolling doesn't help. Maybe it was a kind of a one-eyed king in the kingdom of blind people that was Winter 2011. Then again, I didn't like BakaTest, either, so my opinion does not always correspond with that of /a/.
