I think she means the process of science, which would be true. It's what you discover after doing hundreds of tedious experiments and observations that can be interesting.

I wouldn't agree with that. Everyone likes hypothesising and predicting, the results on the other hand will not always be want you wish it to be.

It might be the fact that in my opinion chemistry is the hardest subject.
    Biology is easily the easiest
    >> Anonymous 06/02/11(Thu)07:36 No.50155667
    >>50155629
But if you have to do over the same experiment 10 or 20 times to prove that what you did is repeatable, believe me, it gets boring fast.

Science by itself is super interesting, but the process in which it is formed can be really tedious.

Well, that's a better way of putting it. I just disliked how your post kinda implied that the process is linear, where you just systematically derive one result and go on to the next.

I'm a psych PhD student and most of the work is reading, writing, and data analysis.

My friend is a dual M.D./Ph.D student and who is doing a psych Ph.D. instead of a Bio PhD because he hated the labs. Bio labs are tedious as fuck. Spend hours with tubes with no interaction,

The majority of people i know agree that out of the main 3 (biology, physics and chemistry) that biology is easiest. It probably stems from the fact that unlike the other two it doesn't really have much to do with the more mathmatical side of things.
Personally, i wouldn't know about physics, but at my school physics is the least passed of the 3. (only something like 5% of my year got a A-C grade, however that might be explained by the shitty teacher)

    Are you in highschool?

You haven't done any science yet. I'm a 4th year university student, and I haven't even gotten past review of early 20th century physics. I'm supposed to do some undergraduate research later this year, though.

If only 5% of your year are doing well in physics A levels it isn't because of the teacher.

As long as you can handle the maths there's nothing that you can't teach yourself if you really put the effort in.

Trust me on this one, they all overlap, you learn the same thing in each field of science these days. Up until third year.

By that point you will have done well over 9 or so group projects. If you're anything like me, one of the 3D pigs in your group will decide to get preggers half way through and ditch the course.
