    1. The reason I downloaded low-filesize was usage caps. Once I go over, the speed goes to dial-up, but not until ~5am so I had a whole day to dl as much as I could. Streaming one day a month would be stupid.
    2. A proper player is a hundred times better than the crap embedded ones like youtube.
    3. 80MB RMVBs are hugely superior in quality to shitty internet streams.
    4. Because I'm an avid collector and wanted to build my collection, even if the contents are low quality.
    5. I can choose the subgroup; stream sites generally don't say.

I've had 2 WD greens die on me. Kind of disappointing, still managed to recover what was on them but they both had that wonderful clunking noise within 3 months and I thought these were meant to be the better option for me since I run a 20 min spindown/shut down on any drive except my AV which clearly is on at all times.

The Green I had absolutely sucked. After using up about 90% of the drive space, it started to slowdown like a motherfucker. I mean slowdown as in taking more than a minute to open up one folder. The transfer rate would often go below 1 mb/s, making it impossible to do anything on it.

The drive died mostly due to my shitty usb to sata cable, and good riddance. Can't say the same about the files I lost, though.

By the way, anyone here know anything about swapping out SATA drive pcbs? My drive's pcb fried and I already have an identical pcb but I hear you gotta transfer donors and shit.

If no one can answer my PCB question then answer me this: If I send in my drive to get it fixed by a data recovery center, since it's only replacing the PCB, would they still have to transfer my files to another HDD? I only keep the anime that I think I'd watch a second time.

That means things like Yumekui Merry get deleted once the season's over, and things like Planetes stay on my hard drive. It seems like a pretty reasonable rule of thumb to me.
