It was not what I expected, and I was expecting pedo shit and actually got something that nearly made me shed manly tears. The second series or OVA's I can't remember what they were they were pedo shit though.

KnJ had the misfortune of showing up during a newfag invasion, and as such, was the target of people still in the moralfag stage of their development as anons. Despite most of those people getting past that, their strong feelings at the time tend to color their view of the series.

It has a decent story, so read it if you don't mind loli fanservice (or if it's your thing), but it's best not to discuss it on /a/, due to butthurt.

I honestly checked the series out because if its taboo subject matter, but kept on it because of its strange tendency to go from lighthearted story to really (and intentionally) fucked up drama in an abrupt manner which somehow doesn't seem to hurt the pacing. I wish it had less fanservice, as it has the makings of a story that might be enjoyable to a larger audience, but would recommend at least checking it our if you aren't too squeamish. The anime proper (the OVAs were just fanservice) is also handled fairly well, especially towards the end.

I disagree. The term tends to imply the reader is a child molester, whereas the label of lolicon (at least in the west) tends to refer to material that is enjoyed as an oddity, rather than as an indicator of sexual attraction to a child.

Given that pedophiles are worse than serial killers that don't also happen to be pedophiles, this is not a label we should apply so casually.
