FiM
is a good show and yes, the love for it is similar to the general
reactions to slice-of-life series starring teenage girls. The thing is,
though, is that FiM is, as said before, a GOOD SHOW. Many slice-of-life
moeshit shows are the same thing over and over again, but FiM is aimed
at little girls rather than twenty-something-year-old men. A recent
comparison could be HeartCatch PreCure: it's aimed at selling toys to
little girls, but it's fun for both kids and their parents.
HeartCatch
and FiM also both involve eye-blinding colors and vaguely homoerotic
friendships, though FiM's pairs are considerably weirder due to the cast
consisting of ponies. Note: not saying that HeartCatch and FiM are
exactly the same (big differences content-wise) but it's possibly the
best thing to compare FiM to. |
