I just wanted to ask where I can find the generator for my objective in Hell's Kitchen in Deus Ex?

there's a building with a boarded up door to the left of the entrance to the 'Ton hotel, and a small basement level window on the side of it. Go in through the window, cut through some underground tunnels, find an elevator, take the elevator to the roof, dispatch a bunch of guys on the roof, the generator is in a big concrete rectangle of a building a couple rooftops away from where you pop up on the elevator

The generator is through the warehouse and either across a bunch of rooftops (with snipers) or through some alleys (with traps).

Geez. You are stuck and only this far into the game?

Ghost hotel scared me shitless the first time through. It was the last day of a busy semester, I had pulled an all-nighter to finish a final project the night before, and was up having not slept in nearly 36 hours, in my dark room, not knowing what to expect...

Cautiously optimistic. Most of what I've seen or heard about it sounds pretty good, or at least reasonable and the developers seem to have a grasp on the idea that multiple approaches for objectives are a large part of what made DX fun. And I'm tempted to get the limited edition for that soundtrack. I guess I'm hyped.

I can't see how hard it can be, all they need to do to create a bit of originality while retaining it's original story is to let some random dude play throughout the whole game and animate all his actions and exploits.

I played a bit of the beginning of Invisible War and it was just so different, I had to stop. I might go back to it just to give it another chance, but after reading about all the changes, I just don't know.

Invisible War is dumbed down console shit, it's perfectly fine to ignore it completely.

It's more linear, runs on a shitty engine, has less options, less customization, worse story, you don't even play as JC Denton and has a fucking retarded universal ammo system.

    I blame Xbox.

Invisible war sucked. The plot was completely predictable as it was like a rushed version of the first game (OH GEE I WONDER IF MY FRIEND IS REALLY WORKING FOR THE "BAD GUY). Also: shared ammo and dumbing down for consoles.

Also, I'm aware you don't play as JC Denton in Human Revolution too, but at least it being a prequel gives it the excuse.

The protagonist of Invisible War is a dick. And I told myself I'd force myself through another shitty playthrough of IW before HR comes out.

I'm thinking I might play though it a bit more, just to see how bad it is. The thing that's gonna kill me is the reduced inventory size. I think I'm about to max it out and I'm still in the tutorial.

That's true, but I just don't care too much about perfect story continuity from a tech standpoint. In my mind, I can always turn it into a re-imagining of the series anyways.

Plotwise, I doubt HR is gonna have things that are as groundbreaking as the first, I remember ideas that weren't really taken seriously during Y2K but turns out to be a bunch of serious issues now, and that's a game predicting things that would actually be prevalent 10 years in the future.

Don't see it as much of a problem. It's been about 10 years since the first game and let's be honest, Deus Ex 1 was never really state of the art, graphics wise. I doubt the engine would have lent itself to fancy technical displays, such as transforming gun-arms and the likes.

I'm sure if it were made today, it would aim for something like Human Revolution did, with a slick Blade Runner-esque art design.

Blade Runner -> Bubblegum Crisis -> Ghost In the Shell -> Deus Ex

so in reality there need not be an anime of Deus Ex, and likewise a movie is redundant as well

He's sort of right. To save on processing resources, they mirrored half of the skyline and pasted it on the background, instead of using a full one with double the size. Incidentally, the half that got cropped was the one with the twin towers.

Maybe look more advanced but you forgot that advanced comes with a price, that you replace your limbs with mechanical version of it.

How is a Nano augs that allow you to keep your original limb while having roughly the same capability is worse.

Jaime also mentioned how maintenance heavy the mechanical augs is

They likely didn't have a way to cycle through the objects so you'd have a stack of random ass grenades. SHIT FUCKING TANK BOT GOTTA KEEP THROWING TILL I GET AN EMP!

Also it's easy to connect the dots why Invisible War was shitty compared to the original. Deus Ex 1 was sent back in time as a documentary and it just accidentally burned a hole in the middle of Warren Spector's office.
