god damn it /a/, what the fuck do you want!?
also I'm still have those general threads in my filter.

Progress is moving along smoothly sir.

If we keep up our current pace we'll have successfully terraformed /a/ into an environment capable of only sustaining moeshit in approximately six months time.

We're already making great strides in reducing the number of years of anime current /a/ users are aware of.

The general threads are pointless because it is inevitable that someone is going to post something outside of them. At least with the other threads, they'll die out eventually, but there will always be that one asshole that continues to make a new general thread and ensures that it stays active by dumping pics and offering no real discussion.

moe is the one of the reason why "anime & random" board got created.

They want everyone everywhere to suddenly sit bolt upright and go "My god, K-on is the worst thing ever, why was ever watching this!" and never make another thread about it again.

The same goes for whiny bitch post about every anime ever posted on /a/. There's no reason to try to accommodate or listen to any of them. Post in the threads you like, hide the ones you don't and filter the junkposters.

what general thread? I can't see them because of the glorious 4chan filter.
you can ignores random threads you don't like that sometime got spams, but its so hard for you to filter/ignores one thread?

    nice hypocrisy.

that'll teach all those outsiders not familiar with japanese puns.

Anime is ours and ours alone.

We can't make the same mistakes we did with Haruhi, Spice and Wolf and Lucky Star, letting outsiders like the show depriving us sole ownership of it. Naturally we had to disown those shows and now claim they're overrated. But K-On! K-On and Hidamari Sketch will be ours forever, no outside fandom or demographic will ever take them from us.

But it's not just one. K-ON, Strike Witches, and Raildex all have constant general threads. Before long, the whole front page will be hidden because it is all general threads.

That's right hide behind black & white labels to save yourself the shame of recognizing yourself as part of a fandom now composed of morbidly obese 13 year old girls driven to cons by their mothers.

It can't be helped that most of /a/'s userbase didn't start watching anime until the 2000s, but it sure is telling in their over-defensive vanity.

I'm not one who really cares enough to complain, but I have to point out that I really wish that there could be more Hidamari Sketch, Azumanga Daioh, Fukumoto, and other threads of shows that I actually watch.

it's sad that the only Hidamari Sketch thread I can find is a thread derailed into bitching.

We've had a ton of 200+ post Hidamari threads over the past week or so, at least one a day. Scanning anon scanlated the manga for us so that was up to date now and shared another drama CDs, episode lists were updated etc.

/a/ always has more threads about current shows than older shows though, that's just how /a/ is and what /a/ is for. There was a ton of Hidamari threads back when Hoshimittsu was airing.
    >> Anonymous 10/29/10(Fri)11:07 No.41842991
Sure its annoying when people bash the current norm you're comfortable with.

But most telling is the overly hostile defense mechanisms and skewed mentalities displayed by this arrogant younger generation.

The accusation of "nostalgia fag" is not only an admission of your inexperienced youth, but is also a tell-tale earmark of the contempt of your self-important generation for anything that existed before your awareness.

Rather than acknowledging your preference for Anime is the result of the era in which you were introduced to it, you either argue feverishly that anime hasn't changed at all over the past 50 years (i.e. moe has been around forever) or that its currently better than its ever been (i.e. higher number of shows produced obviously = better shows).

If only you could just say, "I like the way things are, that's me, sucks to be you", it's be one thing, but no, you need the validation of being right.

There's nothing wrong with liking K-On. But you don't like it, you obsess it. It's become the fucking focal point of anime for you. The hub from which all other anime is discussed. A watered down derivative of Lucky Star is now your Jesus Christ of Anime.

K-On was the anime of the season over a year ago. The shit isn't going away.

The only way its going to be cured is by giving K-On its own board just like we had to do with the Gundam fags that turned /a/ into nothing but Gundam Seed Destiny shipping threads.
