The only people who told me to read D Gray-man have been women, and when I asked them the basic premise, they said "oh the main character is SO HOT... and that other guy too... they are SO gonna get together." I've never actually heard anyone talk about what its about (ugh that sounded redundant).

If I hadn't bought the first volume, I would be clueless as to what its about.

I liked it for 2 or 3 volumes. I thought the first chapter, the first mission with Kanda Yuu and the arc which introduced Rhode Camelot and the time-rewinding woman were all good.

I think it became shit with the prolonged "fallen exorcist" arc.

Um, yes, I know thats what you said. But you tried to excuse DGM's horrible beginning by saying that OP's beginning is worse. Thats no different than if your friend were to say to you "my dad died," and you respond, "My dad died last year, what's your point?" Is it any less sad that your friend's dad died? No, it isn't. If you are too dense to understand that example, here is another: You say to your friend, "Hey, I'm hungry." and your friend says, "Yeah, me too." Does him being hungry make you any less hungry? No it doesnt. It isn't related.

The manga starts out alright and I really liked the art style that was used. Then it becomes more generic fighting, especially during the Ark ("you go on ahead! I've got this guy!"), plus none of the characters are particularly good, the humor is bad and the pacing is kind of weird and off.

It was at least decent up until that kid with the jewel on his forehead joined the group (and he isn't even in the newest fucking chapters, what was the point of him?), but after that.....holy shit, I'm not sure I've seen such a quick nosedive in quality for a manga. Ever since it went monthly it's been terrible. The plot moves too quick, the art and panel layouts are confusing and worse than ever. It basically feels like it starts in the middle of an arc, then all these random characters transpire at one place for no reason and all these revelations appear out of no where and the dialogue is terrible and it just gets all sorts of stupid crazy.

I'm not a fan of Plagiarism: The Manga.

I actually bought the first 5 volumes, call it shonen for women or not, the art was trippy and it had some great feeling for scary moments.

I watched the anime up to around the episode where Allen and Lavi go to the vampire's castle.
It wasn't bad, in fact, I was entertained. I plan to continue at some point.

I liked the anime. Then the anime ended. So I switched to the manga, and couldn't tell what the fuck was going on. And I don't mean I couldn't understand the plot, I couldn't SEE what was going on in the panels. It's all a clusterfuck with bad shading.

So I dropped it. Which sucked because Lenalee was olev.
