Well at least you're doing it right, that's a start. Expect Index to have lots of action, lots of talking and lots of hot bitches (lolis included). And Accelerator. Be prepared to be forced to watch scenes (sometimes episodes) more than once, the pace is often way too fast so there's a good chance you'll miss something important.

Expect Railgun to have considerably less action, considerably more lesbianism and lots of hot bitches (no lolis ;_;). And Saten, too much of her. Be prepared to be bored out of your skull during the second half where they focus on unimportant side characters and pointless moeness.

watch railgun first, it serves as a kind of explanation as to why miska's personality was more mature in the middle of index than at the beginning. its a kindof prologue i feel.

also index had pretty inconsistent pacing and terrible walls of text of stupid magic shit the first half of the series. you will most likely want to quit. but if you watch railgun first then it helps ease the pain of enduring it.

Yeah, like I said earlier today, there's a good chance you'll need to re-watch whole scenes or episodes. The unfortunately horribly fast pacing means you have to always be paying attention so that something important doesn't pass you by. Also reading the novels helps A LOT, everything is always explained in a lot more detail there.

It all seemed pretty straight-forward to me, I'm not really sure what you would find confusing in index. Or were you confused about the "personal reality" explanations they had in class?
    >> Anonymous 08/18/10(Wed)09:44 No.39331843
Both are good. However, the common reaction on /a/ while Index was airing was "Wall of text: the anime." I'm serious, the amount of dialogue in that show just explaining shit is absurd.
At least the show has a lot of content, it's not like they waste time.

Oh no, I understood it all, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if somebody else had trouble. Plus there's a lot of things you probably think you understand but when you sit down for a minute you realise you actually don't. For instance, explain to me your take on how ESPers themselves work, I'd like to see if other people are on the same track as I am.

You see? You understood it contextually but you didn't REALLY understand it.

Basically ESPers in Index are people with the ability to distort reality. This is done quite simply by convincing yourself that what you can do is far more than what you are actually capable of. This is an incredibly difficult thing for human beings, creatures defined by logic and reason, but abilities are discovered through the aid of drugs and hypnosis. Once the abilities are found it's much easier for the ESPer to believe that they are capable of distorting reality and can possibly replicate the results without the need for drugs or hypnosis. The Schrodinger's cat thing was used to explain that an ESPer can effectively choose a reality that shouldn't exist, ESPer's in a way disproves his theory.

Do you get my point yet? I could keep going you know.
