I have never watched anime, save a few DBZ ones.
I didn't even watch Naruto. Nothing.

However, I have sustained an injury and will require some timekillers. I figure you guys can suggest an anime fit for someone who never watched anime?
I hail from the realm of /tg/, so it's gotta have swords and magic.
    >> Mr.Brown the ice-cream man !ipW36c0agw 08/16/10(Mon)19:06 No.39275731
Also, medic/hospital themed anime if they exist.
    >> Anonymous 08/16/10(Mon)19:06 No.39275759
Just watch Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: SAC already - those are pretty good "starter" anime

Berserk is the one you want mang. If you're from /tg/, surely you'd have heard of it. One guy fighting demons and shit with a two meter long sword and a crossbow.

the 13 ep ova is the definitive sword and sorcery anime. based on books that were based on real 2nd ed D&D quests.

this, fuckin DnD the anime, you can even tell what class everyone is and what spells they are using.
    >> Anonymous 08/16/10(Mon)19:32 No.39276664
For something shorter, I suggest the 4 episode Ruin Explorers, the 8 episode Bastard!!, and the 4 episode Dragon Knight: Wheel of Time.

for something longer, try Druaga, Utawarerumono, or Claymore (although magic is lacking in that last one)

Honeetly, though, anime does a better job at modern Urban Fantasy than old school european fantasy. Try Shakugan no Shana, Fate/Stay Night, or Kaze no Stigma for good urban fantasy titles.

    You guys are so awesome.
And pirated anime is ridiculously easily available.
I'de spend ages looking for gaming handbooks. But if I type the title of an anime on google, I'll find a mediafire link in less than a few clicks.

Why would you ever need a gaming handbook in the first place? Just go to GameFAQs.

In b4 >gamefags. You're not visiting the forums, you're looking at the guides.

as for medical drama, anime really doesn't do that. The closest thing is something like Mushishi or Mononoke where you do have guys doing medical stuff but its a period piece and there are supernatural elements.

Isn't Monster about a surgeon or something? I haven't watched it yet, but I remember the protagonist is a doctor of some kind.

Aren't most of them on /rs/? I never had problem with that.
Also we had one of those in /tg/ a few days ago. Use easymodo a little.

I'm new to anime and torrents as well, I have been using Tokyo Toshokan and downloading them through limewire.

Is it alright to keep downloading or will it end up killing my download rate?

I understand there is some sort of ratio, how do I seed so I can get a better ratio?

    Thanks in advance.

I've never really torrented anything, I just want to watch some animu, any advice?
    >> Anonymous 08/16/10(Mon)20:00 No.39277478
    >>39277412

Torrents, Usenet, or download JDownloader and find direct download links like rapidshare/megaupload/mediafire/hotfile and all that shit. The last method can take a long fucking time as a free user though if it's a large collection. Megaupload or mediafire is preferable since they have the most lenient download limits and minimal wait time.

    Use Utorrent.
animetake.com and TT for newer releases

    Baka BT for older anime.

Also, watch Samurai Champloo. Extremely friendly to anime newfriends and its by the same people who made Cowboy Bebop. Its also fucking awesome.
    Just give it a shot.

Okay thankyou, and what is the advantage of having a higher ratio?

What is my motivation to seed?
