For getting casuals up to speed, this is fucking amazing. It's got a nice depth and range of shows and genres, and the most ANIMEZ thing is Eva.

Impressive. Most impressive. I'd throw in Maison Ikkoku and maybe Azumanga, because slice of life is an important genre which Urusei alone doesn't really hit.

I find it hard to believe that they could not come up with a better anime to add to the list. Keeping with their trend, they should have included Giant Robo, or Monster, or Planetes, or hell even Dragon Ball due to its influence alone. FMA just does not fit.

I hate seeing series mixed with movies, you'd never do this with live action so I don't know why anyone thinks it's okay to do it with anime. There are several questionable movie entries, and it almost seems like he just threw in as many Ghibli movies as he could come up with and Innocence is a terrible terrible movie and should not be on any "greatest" list (also why Innocence but no mention of SAC?)

A good chunk of the list looks like false nostalgia faggotry to me too (just throwing things in there because they're old/commonly considered influential/whatever, but missing some older series that are both genuinely good and very influential--Rose of Versailles fucking where?)

I don't think all those movies are a good idea as a starter list. Good as a first impression for initial interest but, not good as in terms of day-to-day anime impression.

It should be more of anime series than movies in the list but, that is not what is going on here. However, its an okay list otherwise.
