I thought it was a very beautiful. I agree the fight scenes could've been considerably longer. Actually, Matou and Yomi's interactions could've been longer too. The whole thing could've been longer. But I liked it. It was worth the wait.

Honestly, I expected more out of BRS.
That said, art was 9/10 and Music was 11/10.

I though up a different interpretation.

Dead Master and Yomi are obviously connected.

In "other world" it's possible Dead Master is seen as some sort of tyrant. There's an alliance of Strength (Yuu), Black Gold Saw, Black Devil Girl fighting against Dead Master.

Yuu wanted to steal Mato away from Yomi because she knew she would be hurting Dead Master indirectly.

She's pissed cause Dead Master hasn't been fully defeated, and she feels she has lost her friend.

1) There is nothing to really suggest any that here. At this point your view, though creative, is pure speculation.
2) The intro shows BRS being killed by one of the others. Obviously they are not on the same team against Dead Master. If anything, it's more likely that DM and everyone else are against BRS.

Again, doesn't change that it suggests BRS isn't exactly fighting alongside the person that impaled her (again, logically speaking but hey shit can happen in animu world.) And yes, there is a possibility it happens long before/after "current" timeline, so there may be a time where they were/will be enemies. But given what is shown it's logically more likely that they are just straight up against eachother.

thats what i thought too, i suspect the fighting scene between BRS and BGS was some kind of practice, maybe they cant die or the way to kill them is something else ? the characters without Black* are:
Dragon Slayer
Geshumaru
Strength
Dead Master
Maid Gunner (i think she is a neutral character)
so that leaves a clear 4x4 if maid gunner isnt an enemy of the Black*

Occam's Razor bro. Rather than invent wildly imaginative reasons as to why they are fighting eachother *if* they were friends/allies (and why stabbing with a foot-and-half-wide-blade in the gut is not mortal wound), simplest solution, i.e. that they are/were/will be enemies, is the best.

As another anon speculated, BRS fighting against BGS happened before BRS merged with Mato. And BRS failed to rescue/saved BGS since she lost to her. It could had happened in the near past or distant past, we don't know. But you can tell it's either one since BRS don't have scars when she was fighting BGS. She probably lost her katana, too against BGS.
