    >Go to MangaToshokan
    >See this
    >We hoped it wouldn't come to this, but due to mounting legal pressure, we have been advised to remove all series serialized by the publishers in the coalition. This was a very difficult decision to make, and one we did not take lightly. Unfortunately this means we have had to remove the majority of our library, however we have been able to retain some manga, as well as most of our manhua and manhwa. We will be shifting the focus of the site more to manhwa and manhua (Korean and Chinese manga). For some of you, this may be your last visit to MangaToshokan, but before you leave we would appreciate it if you could fill out a short six question survey that we are going to share the results to the publishers. If nothing else, we hope it will make them aware of the consequences of their actions. Also if you could pass this survey on to other people we would appreciate it. Again, we apologize for this, but we don't have any other options at this point.

    FUCKING PUSSIES

    Some of the other manga sites actaully DO just have systems where users post shit, but do you really think that they'll take that excuse? They didnt CREATE the content no, but they are hosting it an making it available for people to use, so in the eyes of the suits doing this its just as bad.

    I mean, I hate funimation viz and all those publishing cancers and I doubt they'd be able to do what the RIAA has been trying to do for an eternity but a neatly done site with every single published manga available to anyone?
    Thats too much. IRC, torrents and other less obvious and trackable places are still going to have all the stuff but the era of free online manga will be over soon.

    Nope, not unless MT goes, "Fuck you, I'm putting them back" (not likely) or the publishers go, "We went too far, sorry guys, you can put 'em back" (VERY unlikely).

    90% of the manga is gone, might as well not go there anymore.

    This is how it usually goes down:

    a) Site X gets the axe;
    b) /a/non is sad, starts making threads to bitch about it;
    c) Site Y opens;
    d) /a/non is happy, starts making threads to share the joy;
    e) Site Y gains popularity;
    f) Site Y gets too popular and is eventually shut down;
    g) Repeat;

    Can't you guys just learn to use BakaUpdates + IRC instead of hopping on every fucking online-viewing train there is?

    Network neutrality isn't being violated here.

    Neutrality and piracy are related but not directly.
    When an ISP wanted to charge for GB's used or restricted speed to those using P2P, that was neutrality being violated.

    Protecting copyright is neither for or against neutrality.

Either they will force other countries to establish harder laws by using contracts (the existing international copyright comes from the US too!), or they'll use more "forceful" methods. Besides, even TODAY it's still better. Readers are exposed ahead of time and tend to buy the volumes later.

    Take the example from /co/. They actually don't have LOL BUY! shit going around. DC comics and /co/ are guilty of this all the time. They get scanlations and free stuff, yet still buy it because they enjoyed the volume. Batman R.I.P. was the highest selling volume EVEN WITH pirated scans.

    So what? It still is way faster than downloading a ENTIRE FUCKING VOLUME with a shit internet.

    Specially when you only want to read a chapter or two.

    FUCKING FAGGOTS. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO THERE WEREN'T ANY ONLINE READERS, AND THERE WEREN'T ANY PROBLEMS WITH PUBLISHERS EITHER.

    The sort of readers they brought in were the retarded and selfish who don't give a fuck about the fan-community. Luckily they are too stupid to know how to overcome the problem (as witnessed here 'haow do I gets my mango naow?!? Halp mi!!)'. Natural selection at it's finest.

    Well, looks like the manga industry outside of Japan is about to flatline, with the exception of people buying Naruto Volumes.

    hell, the Bleach translated manga is so far behind it's behind the dubbed anime.

    I read way too many manga series to download everything. Plus who wants to pay at least $9.99 PLUS tax for one volume?

    Funny thing... people are still pirating.

    And people buying only buy the songs they hear on the radio. Albums are not selling at all. iTunes is selling great with 1 song a piece.
