I first started watching Naruto and Dragonball, but I got bored. A few months later, a friend of mine recommended me Elfen Lied and Death note, and that was it. I was hooked up ever since, and I still can't find anime that is on par with both Elfen Lied and Death Note.

The anime that got me into anime was, I think, an old GiTS movie.
I saw it subbed in french in one of those "original voiced seinen" specials shown at night on the french anime TV channel "Manga".
I didn't understand shit, but fuck it looked awesome.

I didn't get into Anime with the internet. I've been watching it since I was a young kid. First with dubbed things like Little Nemo, Mega Man and Zelda and then graduated up to Fan subs of stuff like Sailor Moon, Miyazaki movies, Eva and Escaflowne.

The internet came much later. It was more of a luxury for us that people today take for granted.

Internet was but a mere infant when I got into anime. I saw a picture of Devil Hunter Yoko holding a pack of condoms.

That's right, Devil Hunter Mother Fucking Yoko got me into anime.

I never streamed anime. I remember downloading Evangelion and Love Hina through something like LimeWire or Kazaa. That's what really got me started watching stuff on my computer.

The anime that got me into watching anime on the internet was The Big 0. All the episodes were there on YT, so I took my time and marathoned the episodes in bursts at a time. The next ones were Cowboy Bebop (The entire series) and the original Full Metal Alchemist (For the first 10 epiosdes).

Eventually I gathered my courage and started downloading anime via direct downloads, only using torrents if direct downloads were not available. I got a lot of anime to watch now. I got a huge backlog.

i was not into anime back when i was 13.. or was it 14. Infact, I often made fun of kids who were into manga and anime that wasn't on toonami. As i ot older, and gained access to my own personal computer, I started to watch dbz again, I was a hoarder, I HAD to have every single episode. Anyway, I watched it, then started re watching a few more shows from the old toonami, then joined small communities with children like me and discussed what was good and shit, so I found more sources for anime and a whole new view on it with these new shows.

Been like 6 years since, but I have never, EVER, streamed anime, I always downloaded high quality versions. I feel sorry for those who had to watch shitty streams to get where they are now, poor quality, ads every 30 seconds, it's SHIT.
