I love this series.
I dont know where all the hate comes from- it's a good shonen action series with no crazy power levels, a fallible but likable main character,plenty of cool characters , and hot women.And there's a STRONG focus on MARTIAL ARTS, no just "I'm gonna teach you another power up."

Based on what the manga has shown us, Akisame is probably the best all-round teacher (not counting the elder). Sure his training is torturous, but he's essentially forged Kenichi's body into steel, and is only going to continue making him stronger.
