FMA is great because there are no stupid filler arcs or flashback/training sequences. everything that happens is current (sans ishbal, but that's understandable and plays a role in the current time), and just that makes it better than naruto or bleach.
the ending might not have been ideal because it seems like everyone got a perfect ending, but i think the closure was fantastic and hiromu didn't try to drag it on.

One thing I truly enjoyed about the ending was that Ed didn't let go of his morals to the very end
He refused to use the philosophers stone, to take lives to get his brother back and even tried to reason with Father at the very end.

The first Full Metal Alchemist anime was the first one I actually downloaded and finished knowing it was an anime, and this is why I am here today, on /a/. Because FMA made me like anime and manga.

I have no regrets.
