207 KB Kino no Tabi general Anonymous 06/08/10(Tue)10:38 No.35993029
So, I was a bit bored a few days ago, and decided to give this a try.

I have no words to describe it. Usually I can only watch 4-5 episodes of something before getting horribly bored, but I managed to marathon the TV series plus all the OVAs in a single godamn sitting. And it left me crying for more.

So to all the Anonymous who recommended Kino no Tabi, thanks a lot. Definitely a masterpiece that deserves it's praise, and way more.

If you still haven't watched it, do it. I'm sure you'll have a blast.
    >> Anonymous 06/08/10(Tue)10:41 No.35993073
Yep it's awesome. For best enjoyment I wouldn't recommend a marathoning of it though

Even if it was grainy, some parts were really poorly animated. It's a show that deserves a better treatment, at least with a better character design.

The animation really was terrible. Kino looked fine, but the side characters were horrible. However, the show was good enough that it didn't really bother me.

Oh, most definitely. However, it was produced between 00-02, a time where the quality of the animation in general was very, very bad. I wish they had a studio like MADHOUSE to remake it, so the visual part could make justice to the wonderful story.

I don't really think it's deep. If you think about it, the plots are really simple and played straight, but what really captivates it's their beauty. It's just fantastic how touching the stories are, even if they are just about the human condition. "The world is not beautiful - therefore it is" is probably one of the best quotes I got from an anime before.

I'd forget about a remake and hope the rest of the light novels are adapted into episodes, but I doubt that would happen because Japan doesn't like good anime.

Yeah, that would be better. But hey, if you think Japan doesn't likes Kino, think again:

    >As of December 10, 2009, thirteen volumes have been published, and over 5.6 million copies of the novels have been sold in Japan.[1]
