the island episodes are filler so you can skip/skim them without missing much of the overall plot. they're not very good compared to the rest of the series but do explore nadia/jean's relationship more. that's where the 'i hate meat' comes from

i consider her the source of shinji/rei/asuka all in one so it's interesting to me to watch her character in relation to eva. I watched nadia after eva as well, and well given anno is the man behind nadia, you should expect a lot of the DEEP characterizations that were in eva. given that larger framework, i find her character very interesting, as well as many of nadia's other characters like proto-gendo, proto-asuku/misato, and proto-ristuko. very interesting.

The show is primaily meant to be nerdbait gag humor, but there are touching moments near the back half.

The ending will either be really sweet or rage inducing too, so if you don't like the humor, you might just want to drop it.
