Once you start adding usernames, avatars, and signatures, the people who aren't prolific posters, the people who don't have cool avatars or custom-made signatures, and the people who are "unpopular" for whatever reason tend to fall to the wayside.

I'm sure most people here have had the experience of making a post and it falling to page 15, or taking the time to write a response to something and have no one reply. At least here, you know it's not because you're not one of the "regulars" or popular posters, etc...

Also, for better or for worse, the anonymity and the general light hand of moderation on this board make for some interesting threads sometimes.

In addition, this board is just as likely to have new information as other websites, and often gets information quicker than other anime websites/forums.

Basically, if you don't download your anime in 1080p via torrents as an .mkv file with fan subs they hate you.
