I've been to both ComicCon and Comiket so I have a semi-worthwhile opinion.

Manga/anime stuff is everywhere in comiccon, but at comiket there was one row out of 50 out of 3 rooms (so one out of 150 or so, i guess) that serviced american comics. It was pretty cool, but as far as weeaboos and such, we have a lot more nerds that care about japanese animation than they have that care about american/western animation. However, there are some pretty high-profile dudes over there that like american stuff, examples include ryu moto (the guy that does the puchi eva stuff) and bkub (the guy that does those ridiculously adorable touhou 4koma)
